Beginning January 1, 2006, the Brazos River Authority implemented a Water Recreational Permit for all watercraft on Possum Kingdom Lake.  The permit applies to all watercraft requiring state registration.

Water Permit Fees:

Annual: $50/Over 65 or active duty/retired with proper ID $35

Daily: $5

3-Day: $12

5-Day: $20

Permits will be sold at local vendors, Chamber of Commerce and the Brazos River Authority Lake Office.  Daily permits are also available in 24-hour dispensers at the Public Boat Ramp, South D&D Public Use Area and West Side Park.

The permit must be on the watercraft at all times and presented to Law Enforcement Officer upon request.  A fine of up to $500 for failure to comply will be enforced.

All proceeds will support the recreational program at Possum Kingdom Lake.

There are several locations on Possum Kingdom lake where you can rent boats and personal watercraft.  Contact the boat rental businesses for boat reservations and rates.

Note:  All boat rental locations  listed below (except PK State Park) are located on the east side of PK lake; the PK State Park is located on the west side lake area.
